According to a report from Taiwan the iPad 2 will feature a better quality display, a faster dual core processor, separate CDMA and GSM version< and dual cameras with 1 mp rear camera and a vga front facing camera, and it will be produced by vendors from 4.5 to 5 million units in the first quarter.
According to appleinsider Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities prepared a detailed report stating that the iPad 2 will not feature a high resolution display and that the display will stay at the same resolution (1024x768).
The display will be improved on its thickness and on its anti-reflection rather than on its resolution and it will be 30-35% thinner than the previous model.
The new iPad 2 will feature the cortex-A9 duel core processor running at 1.2GHZ per processor.
And there is a chance that the new iPad 2 will feature an SD card slot as mentioned by the report but its not confirmed.
The report also states "iPad 2 will also have a GPU using Imagination’s SGX543 dual core graphics technology which is 200~300% powerful than iPhone 4."
Production of the iPad 2 began this month and will result in at least 4.5-5 million iPads in the first Quarter and it will be released to the markets in april.
Until now these are unconfirmed information and we will just have to wait for Steve Jobs or his replacement to release the new iPad
